Supporting our Community

19 September 2019

Local community groups have less than two weeks left to submit their application for funding through the Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) Community Investment Program.

Acting CEO Craig Walker said the Corporation was proud to be an active member in the communities in which GPC operates, providing financial and in-kind support through the Community Investment Program.

“We’re proud to make real and positive contributions to community groups in Gladstone, Rockhampton and Bundaberg,” Mr Walker said.

“In 2018/19 the program invested over $2.8M back into the community through the provision and maintenance of parklands, sponsorships and donations.

"The model we employ for our investments provides benefits to not only the recipient of the funding, but also to GPC and the wider community.”

Fifty-five submissions were considered during Round One of the 2019/20 Community Investment Program intake with successful recipients including the Gladstone Men’s Shed, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum, CQUniversity, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Bajool and District Pony Club, Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise - Oceanfest, Bundaberg Lighthouse Festival, QCWA Ambrose Branch, Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club and Gladstone Engineering Alliance.

Round Two funding opportunities for activities that occur between February and July 2020 are now open and include Community Partnerships of more than $10,000 and Community Support up to and including $10,000.

For more information and to apply visit www.gpcl.com.au and navigate to the Community Investment Program page.  Applications close at 5pm on 30 September 2019.
