11 October 2017

Applications are now open for Gladstone Ports Corporation’s (GPC) Cross Industry Operations Traineeship.

Following the success of the programs’ pilot year GPC is again offering a number of traineeships to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander people.

The 18 month Traineeship will rotate through different areas of the business and at the completion of the traineeship, candidates will attain a Certificate II Cross Industry Operation.

GPC, People, Community and Sustainability General Manager, Rowen Winsor said the program was helping to bridge the gap and highlights GPC’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation through relationships, respect, opportunities and accountability.

“It has been an honour to be a part of the delivery of such a great employment program to our indigenous community,” she said.

“Last year was the first year of the program and following its success GPC has made a commitment to deliver the program annually.

“The program exposes the trainees a variety of business units and educates them on best work practices, preparing them for their future career progression.”

The successful trainees will rotate through the business gaining experience in Administration/Finance, Building Services, Marine Operations, Horticulture and Warehouse/Supply.

Applications are available on our vacancies page and close Monday 16 October.
