GPC is committed to providing residents and visitors to Gladstone with greater access to the waterfront through the provision of exceptional parklands and facilities at the Marina Parklands, Spinnaker Park, East Shores Parklands and Auckland Hill Lookout.
Our parkland facilities include:
- a water play park
- BBQs
- picnic areas
- sheltered seating areas
- public amenities
- a beached cove
- native wetlands and ponds
- kilometres of walking tracks.
We ask all park users to follow our conditions of use and the park guidelines.
Dogs are permitted at our parklands but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Parkland events and functions
With permission from GPC, events and functions with more than 50 attendees and fitness sessions can be held in the Marina, East Shores and Spinnaker Parklands.
Please review the categories below and complete an application. A bond may be applicable.
Before you apply
All groups wanting to utilise our parklands for an event must adhere to our Parklands’ condition of use and park guidelines.
Before you apply, please ensure you can provide:
- the event type (e.g. birthday party)
- the event date and approximate start and finish times
- the desired area e.g. Marina Area C
- the approximate number of attendees
- if any infrastructure will be utilised e.g. marquee, jumping castle etc.
- any suppliers or vendors you may look to engage (e.g. food vans)
- a copy of your current Public Liability Insurance (if you are an organisation using an area).
Event Categories
To determine your event category, refer to the GPC Parklands Condition of Use.
General Events
An event attended by 50+ persons and does not involve any infrastructure
NB. An approval is not required, but (as a courtesy), please contact GPC at gpcparklands@gpcl.com.au to discuss location and timing of event.
Private Functions
An event attended by 50-249 persons and is not open to the general public. Examples: birthday parties, funerals, corporate functions etc.
NB. A ‘Private Function’ attended by 250+ attendees falls in the category of a ‘Major Event’.
Weddings
A wedding ceremony and/or wedding reception.
Community Events
An event which is open to the general public and attended by 100+ attendees.
Major Events
An event which is open to the general public and attended by 250+ attendees. Examples: festivals, fun runs, concerts, community service days, expos etc.
Fitness Sessions
A ‘once off’ or recurring event attended by 1–249 persons and is not open to the general public. Examples: boot camps, personal training sessions, classes etc.
NB. A Fitness event which is open to the general public falls in the category of a ‘Community Event’ and the Community and/or Major Events Parklands EOI Application Form must be completed. Examples: community fun run, walks.
CCTV camera surveillance
GPC uses security cameras to ensure public safety, for the investigation and prosecution of criminal offences and for the investigation of any safety, environmental or security incidents.
CCTV footage and audio recordings are accessed by persons authorised to do so. In the event of an incident, recordings may be provided to the Queensland Police Service and other state and federal government departments for law enforcement purposes.
