    At Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) we have biosecurity procedures and measures in place to protect the communities in which we operate from harmful pest flora, fauna, viruses and diseases that pose a risk.

    Operating under the Biosecurity Act 2015, our ports located in the Gladstone, Bundaberg and Rockhampton regions have necessary permissions for particular classes of vessels and goods to be landed at Biosecurity Entry Points (BEPs) within each port. A BEP is a designated area within the port, typically berths, for international vessels.

    Requirements for landing

    All wharf users must meet the FPOE Biosecurity Standards which describe the requirements for landing and comply with GPC Policies and Procedures. In addition, all wharf users (new and existing) operating at our multi-user wharves/berths must comply with the following:

    1. Develop and provide a Biosecurity Incident Response Procedure (BIRP). Use our BIRP Guide to assist your preparations. You must ensure all infrastructure and equipment required for the BIRP is in place and that you keep a record of its implementation.
    2. Submit a copy of your BIRP to GPC.
    3. All personnel involved with facilitating international arrivals must complete the Seaports FPOE biosecurity awareness eLearning package by clicking the button below and maintain attendance records.
    4. Inform GPC of any fundamental changes to your existing operations or changes to your BIRP.

    GPC may audit wharf users to ensure compliance with the biosecurity requirements.
